RACHEL AND CHAD’S BEAUTIFUL SYDNEY WEDDING

Chad’s special proposal to Rachel came as they shared their last family holiday with Rachel’s terminally ill father.  “The month prior to his passing, we decided as a family to take one last vacation. In his earlier years my Father built a Motor-home. He found joy and serenity exploring the beautiful Australian landscape. We decided that a fitting last family vacation would be camping at the Minnamurra River in Wollongong. During our trip Chad decided that he wanted to do some exploring along the rocks, so we decided to take the go pro with us. While we were walking along the beach (the go pro on, and strapped to my forehead), I felt Chad drift away from me. Turning around, he was on bended knee with a ring in his hand. My immediate reaction was to yell “NOOO”. I think this reaction was out of shock and excitement. The best part is that the entire proposal was recorded from my perspective. My family were waiting for us at the camp site, to celebrate,” Rachel told Wedded Wonderland. This sounds so beautiful!

Fast-forward to their incredible wedding, where the day began with a traditional and sacred church ceremony, followed by a fun, joyful reception. “As we stood behind the large entry doors of our reception venue, anticipation began to overwhelm us. As our turn to enter approached the reception room was filled with the beating of the Lebanese drums. With the opening of the doors, fireworks were released on either side of us. The drummers surrounded the entry and Chad and I began to dance – and the party began!”

If the couple were to choose one special and unique moment from the night it would be Rachel’s Father’s speech.  “As my Father was not able to celebrate with us, he had left a speech for my Brother to read on his behalf. There are no words to explain the emotion experienced by not only Chad and I, but also by our family and friends in hearing the words he has written. The absence of my Father was a difficult hurdle in the planning of our wedding, and hearing those words and imagining his voice set our hearts at ease.”

Be inspired by this beautiful wedding, Fairies!
