You’ll Never Guess The Queen’s Wedding Gift To Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

Chances are you’ve either received or given a really lame wedding present. We’re talking Aunt Renee’s pot set that’s still sitting in the garage and those homeware candles that look like they were pulled out of your third cousin’s lounge room.

These gifts are probably unheard of for our favourite royals who are asking for charity donations instead of traditional wedding gifts. As she did when Prince William wed Kate Middleton in 2011, Queen Elizabeth II is reportedly gifting her beloved grandson, Prince Harry, and his bride-to-be, Meghan Markle, a house. Yep, a literal house.

The York Cottage sits on the grounds of her Sandringham property in Norfolk and is believed to be their future holiday house. The overall property stands at a whopping 8,000 hectares, including a 240-hectare public park and 24-hectare garden.

The Queen inherited the estate from her father in 1952, with Princess Charlotte being christened there in 2015 and Meghan Markle joining Christmas celebrations there last year.

According to The Mirror, the cottage looks like “three Merrie England pubs joined together.” We can just imagine the retro vibes that live here. And we really would like a cottage of our own.

Meanwhile, the rest of us are going to have to continue saving for those house deposits.

Also, show this to your grandmas, taytas, nonnas, yiayias, abuelas and tell them to up their game.
