THEIA: SPRING 2016 #NYBM

THEIA’S designer, Don O’Neill has dressed Taylor Swift, Alyssa Reiner and Carrie Underwood and is known for his elegant evening-wear. His Spring 2016 collection, which was launched at New York Bridal Market, combines his signature sophistication with contemporary, yet romantic silhouettes.

For this collection, Don sought inspiration from Danish Art-Nouveau illustrator Kay Rasmus Nielsen who was born during the reign of Queen Victoria and worked in the early 20th century, during the Belle Époque Era. Kay Rasmus Nielsen illustrated some of the most famous pieces of literature including “Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Anderson,” “Hansel & Gretel,” and “Other Stories by the Brothers Grimm.”

The Spring 2016 THEIA bride follows him on a journey through his illuminated magical pages filled with Victorian dancing princesses skipping through enchanted forests.

This fairy-tale conjures brides in weightless transparent embroideries as though spun by spiders, cobweb-fine Chantilly lace, butterflies fluttering on Silk Organza, Art Nouveau-inspired hand-beaded gowns and an otherworldly bodice created using the 21st Century magic of 3D technology.

These designs are so pretty, they look like they could fly away at any moment!
