The platform is one of the best sources of wedding inspiration for brides with its endless boards of styling, wedding dresses, makeup inspo, jewellery, bouquet suggestions, honeymoon destinations – the list goes on. If something is trending in the wedding sphere Pinterest has got it pinned.

According to Pinterest, these are the biggest wedding trends of 2017 determined by the top performing pins and we’re pleasantly surprised. Take a look Fairies.

1. Not So Cold Shoulder

Off the shoulder wedding dresses are absolutely trending. We’ve seen the cold-shoulder trend in blouses and dresses but now the biggest trend for the modern bride is an off the shoulder wedding dress. So chic!

2. Let’s Taco About it

Food and drink pairings are having a moment. Couples are opting out of standard cocktail orders for more fun and tasty alternatives, think sliders with shots of beer or the extremely popular taco bar. Taco bars gets your guest building their own snacks and people are loving it! With searches for taco weddings up 132 per cent year over year.

3. Au Naturale

Brides are keeping it real, going for simple natural hair looks which is both timeless and totally fuss free. Paired with some bold brows and classic makeup this is a winning combination. Pinterest totally agrees with searches for polished glamour beauty looks up by 83 per cent.

4. Blushing Bride

Pink is the colour of the season. From pink wedding invitations to pink eyeshadow and let’s not forget the trending blush-coloured wedding dress, pink is Queen of the colour kingdom.

5. Dripping Cakes

Move over naked cakes the most popular trend in wedding cakes for 2017 is dripping cakes. These sweet creations are the go to for the on-trend bride and why not if it looks this good? We say delicious!

6. All Suited Up

Another wedding tend that ditches the traditional is the coloured suit. Grooms are stepping away for the black or navy suits and going for brighter blue hues with searches for blue grooms suits up by 90 percent.

7. Sealed in Ink

That’s right fairies couple tattoos are according to Pinterest, one of the biggest wedding trends of 2017. Couples are taking their commitments to the next level by inking their wedding date, wedding bands and floral bouquets on their bodies.

8. Just the One

Brides are opting out of the big bridal parties and instead going for fewer bridesmaids or none at all. The less is more principle ensures that the focus is on the bride and groom themselves. And the bridesmaid dresses you ask? Florals are trending for bridesmaid dresses.

9. On to the Next Adventure

The most searched honeymoon destinations are Santorini and New Zealand. We totally understand why, Santorini is one of the most romantic places on Earth and New Zealand offers a great adventure.
