Real Wedding: The Bride, the Groom and the Unicorn in the Room

For Tracy and Christian, it was important that their wedding was packed with personality. With the Greek island of Mykonos as their background and armed with a set of animal face masks, this very cheeky couple got just that – a stunning Mediterranean wedding that was equal parts traditional, modern, and free-spirited.

“We were walking down the street of Old Byblos citadel and he stopped at the same spot where we shared our first kiss”, describes Tracy. “He (Christian) held my hands and told me that he wanted to share the rest of his life with me”. It was this perfectly heartfelt and candid proposal that started this wonderful journey that culminated into the pair’s fabulously chic wedding.

Styled by luxury destination wedding planner Strawberries and Champagne, this gorgeous wedding fit the boho chic brief to a tee. Combing the Mediterranean setting of whitewashed walls and cobbled stone floors, with crisp florals and silvery grey foliage, Strawberries and Champagne were able to create a beautifully opulent and rustic affair. And for the reception a pop of rich reds and soft pink flowers contrasting perfectly with timber tables.

“Sharing a telepathic connection with Jessy [Strawberries and Champagne] in regards to theme and direction of the wedding, all preparations were a breeze and with the guidance and touch of Jessy we agreed on a Boho chic theme and added a small twist and fun and crazy to it”.

“The ceremony very touching and warm, most of the guests had tears in their eyes while the party was the complete opposite with everyone having a blast and letting loose”.

However, what made this wedding truly unique were the touches of humour and fun that were littered throughout the day-to-night event, with everyone clearly enjoying themselves from start to finish.

“All the night was fun and amusing but definitely kicking off the after party wearing animal face masks and entering to the tune of ‘Who let the Dogs out’ was the highlight of the night. Breaking plates on our heads during the Zorba was also not bad at all”.

In between the traditional Greek dancing, the plate-breaking, the animal masks and the coloured flares, there was nothing but wide-brimmed smiles and contagious laughter.

“The most surprising thing was how much fun we had while not stressing at all and not worrying about anything, we felt as if we were invited to our own wedding and just went along for the ride”.
