A Winter Wonderland Wedding With Two Huge Cherry Blossom Trees

Suzie had no way of knowing that Gerry was going to propose – since the two spent so much time together, she was left wondering when Gerry even had a moment to ask her father for his blessing.

During their usual Christmas Eve tradition, Suzie’s family gathered with friends at the Crown Towers for a Kris Kringle that would become one to remember.

Suzie thought she was getting a pair of Adidas sneakers. Little did she know she was soon to be engaged!

“It was when I was looking in the box for another clue that Gerry pulled my hand, got down on one knee and asked whether I would continue to make him happy for the rest of his life.”

Suzie said it was “the most incredible and emotional experience,” and was grateful that her friends and family were a part of the unforgettable memory.

When it came to the wedding, Suzie and Gerry celebrated in a stunning new reception venue that overlooked the Yarra River. They knew that they wanted an intimate affair with a winter wonderland theme, even planning the entire wedding on their own.

“Everything tied in from our invitations, menus, seating chart, chairs and flowers. We had acrylic invites and seating chart and then our theme of flowers was white with gold sprayed leaves.

“We organised two cherry blossom trees for our reception and they were incredible. They really filled up the room and it made it feel magical and romantic.”

Suzie said having the cherry blossom trees “was very unique and everyone absolutely loved it!”

The funniest moment happened when onlookers kept congratulating the bride and a groomsman who was helping her fix her dress, because the groom was getting shots alone!

With a strictly new music playlist, an Ed Sheeran song for their first dance, and partying to the beat of drums after the ceremony, Suzie says her favourite part “was seeing everyone so happy throughout the night”.
