5 Bridal lingerie questions you’ve been too scared to ask

It’s one of the most underrated purchases in the lead-up to the Wedding day, with most Brides too either scared to ask questions or too intimidated to even purchase Bridal lingerie at all!

So, we’ve spoken to real Brides from across the world and answered the biggest 5 questions you’ll have about your Wedding night lingerie.

1. I’m trying on my Wedding gown, what underwear should I take?

If you’re heading into a Wedding gown boutique, or into your couturier’s showroom to try on options for your dream dress, we recommend bringing a few options. For the bottom half, take seamless shapewear, a nude as well as a nude seamless brief, that should cover you whether you’re wearing a skin-tight gown or a princess-style skirt. For the top half, bring a plunge and a strapless bra; you might find that with the corsetry and shape of the dress, you don’t even need a bra on the Big Day!

2. Do I wear my lingerie under the Wedding gown?

This all depends on the style of your Wedding gown and the style of your lingerie! However, more often than not, you’ll find that a pair of seamless undies work best (despite them not being the sexiest choice!).

3. When do I change into my lingerie?

If you’re not wearing your Wedding lingerie under your gown, the best time to change into it is when you and your Groom arrive to your hotel room (or wherever you’re staying for the Wedding night). Have your lingerie packed in your overnight bag and change in the bathroom. Our tip? Tell him to wait in the bedroom because you have a surprise for him – then stage a big reveal!

4. How do I know what type of lingerie he’ll find sexy?

It can be daunting choosing sexy lingerie, especially when it’s for such a big occasion like your Wedding night! Our biggest tip is to find something that makes YOU feel good, because when you feel confident, you’ll look sexy to him. Traditionally, Bridal lingerie was white, but if you prefer black (or pink, or blue, or orange), go with it! Garters belts, thongs and push-up bras are fail-safe options, but if you want something with a little more coverage, consider a slinky teddy or a sexy g-string body-suit!

5. I’m too nervous to buy Wedding lingerie, what are my options?

If you flat-out are too intimidated to go lingerie shopping, you have a few options; first, try online shopping (you’ll be behind a computer screen so no-one will ever know!), second, ask you sister/mum/bestie to help you out, or, let your Bridesmaids know that instead of a Bridal shower gift registry, you’d prefer to receive lingerie from attendees!
